Laminated Breathable Non Woven Fabric
Laminated Nonwoven fabrics are microporous fabric sheets or web structures held together by entangling threads or filaments mechanically, thermally, or chemically (and perforating films). We are nonwoven polypropylene fabric breathable flat sheets made from individual fibers. We are knitted and do not require the transformation of fibers into yarn.
Lamination is the process of layering a material so that each layer’s physical and mechanical properties combine to create a more robust, more resilient composite material. The process of joining two or more layers, at least one of which is a nonwoven fabric, aims to improve strength, stability, sound insulation, appearance, or other attributes, known as nonwovens lamination. For example, a nonwoven breathable filter fabric is weaker than woven fabrics, although being less expensive to produce. The lamination process comes into play when the nonwoven material needs to be strengthened for several applications.
The bonding is commonly done with adhesives (or heat) and pressure, allowing nonwovens goods with a waterproof layer to be manufactured that are breathable, soft, comfortable, and appropriate for printing.
Breathability was a problem with lamination initially, but modern methods can produce breathable, porous textiles while still maintaining their waterproof qualities. Nonwoven fabric that has been chemically, thermally or solvent-bonded together is known as laminated nonwoven fabric. Laminated nonwoven materials can even pass water vapor if they are densified or reinforced with a backing. A thermally bonded nonwoven fabric and an adhesive-bonded breathable polyethylene fabric make up this laminated breathable nonwoven material.

Primary applications for nonwovens lamination
Nonwoven laminates have been used in various industries during the last few decades, including agriculture, clothes (interlinings, fillers, etc.), home, transportation, and the environment. While nonwoven laminates are used in various sectors, the following are the ones that use them the most.
Medical Industry
The most common applications for nonwoven laminates is in the medical field. There are many practical uses for this substance in medicine due to the necessity for sterile, disposable materials. Nonwovens lamination generates breathable textiles that allow moisture to escape while keeping liquids from entering the garment. In addition, the nonwoven composite material can be treated with an antimicrobial surface treatment to improve its protective characteristics further. As a result, the nonwoven fabric’s outer layer is soft to the touch, robust, and long-lasting.
Nonwovens lamination is used to make a range of garments and objects for use in medical settings, including:
- Masks for the face
- Drapes and robes for surgery
- Covers for hair and shoes
- Bandages, both sticky and non-adhesive
- Cloths for cleaning
- Covers that protect
Keep in mind that all surgical gowns, masks, and protective coverings should be light and comfortable, with enough room for movement.
Hygiene
Nonwoven laminated products are also commonly used in the hygiene business. The emphasis is once again on the provision of sterile, disposable items with air and water vapor permeability as well as water resistance, such as:
- Diapers for adults and children
- Hygiene products for women
- Bathing goods for patients
