Grade selection

Choosing the right grade for your bag line

Handle style

A D-cut handle is punched from the bag body, so the fabric around the cut carries the load. Loop handles are stitched on — specify 90–110 GSM with reinforced stitching.

Bag size and load

Move up within each GSM band as bag size or contents grow. Heavy take-away and apparel loads belong in W-cut bags at 80–100 GSM or box bags at 100–120 GSM.

Print method

Plain fabric takes flexo and screen print. For gravure, multi-colour artwork or water resistance, order the laminated grade; wine bags run 100–120 GSM laminated.

The 60 GSM floor

Non-woven carry bags sold in India must be at least 60 GSM under the Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2021. Keep every carry-bag grade at 60 GSM or above.

Buyer FAQ

Non-woven bag fabric: buyer questions

What GSM non-woven fabric is used for D-cut bags?
D-cut bags run on 60–80 GSM PP spunbond. The handle is punched from the bag body, so the fabric around the cut carries the load. Stay near 60 GSM for light supermarket and event bags; move toward 80 GSM for larger bags or heavier contents.
Which GSM suits W-cut, loop-handle and box bags?
W-cut bags run 80–100 GSM for fashion, gifting and heavier take-away loads. Loop-handle bags need 90–110 GSM with reinforced handle stitching. Box bags need 100–120 GSM with a rigid base for gift and apparel retail.
What is the minimum GSM for non-woven carry bags in India?
60 GSM. The Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2021 set 60 GSM as the minimum for non-woven carry bags. Every bag grade in our GSM map starts at 60 GSM or above. Check the current rules for your market before you finalise a grade.
Can you supply laminated fabric for printed bags?
Yes. The laminated grade bonds PP spunbond with BOPP film in a gloss or matte finish. It takes gravure print and resists water, which suits wine, gift and promotional bags. Wine bags run 100–120 GSM laminated.
What is the minimum order quantity for bag fabric?
500 kg per GSM and shade. Choose from the stock shades above or ask for a custom shade match. Roll width, roll length, lead time and payment terms are confirmed in writing before you order.
Can I test the fabric before placing a bulk order?
Yes. We send free physical fabric samples to B2B buyers, so you can check GSM, shade and print first. Request the sample kit online, or WhatsApp +91 88007 75462 with your bag size and GSM.
