What is spunlace non woven fabric?
Spunlace non woven fabric is made by hydroentanglement — high-pressure water jets mechanically bond fibres together without heat or chemicals. The result is a soft, strong, absorbent fabric with a textile-like appearance. It is made from viscose, polyester, cotton or blends thereof, in 30–120 GSM.
What is the difference between spunlace and spunbond?
Spunlace uses hydroentanglement of staple fibres (viscose, polyester, cotton) — softer, more absorbent, textile-like. Spunbond uses thermally bonded continuous polypropylene filaments — stronger, more durable, less absorbent. Spunlace is preferred for wipes and skin-contact products; spunbond for bags, gowns and structural applications.
What GSM spunlace fabric is used for wet wipes?
Baby wipes typically use 40–50 GSM viscose-polyester or cotton-blend spunlace. Adult hygiene wipes use 50–60 GSM. Cosmetic wipes and facial pads use 40–80 GSM. Industrial cleaning wipes use 60–120 GSM 100% polyester spunlace for maximum strength.
Is your spunlace fabric biodegradable?
100% viscose (rayon) spunlace is biodegradable under industrial composting conditions. Cotton-enriched blends also biodegrade faster than polyester grades. For eco-friendly or flushable wipes, we recommend our 100% viscose or cotton-viscose blend grades. Pure polyester spunlace is not biodegradable.
