What is hydrophilic non woven fabric?
Hydrophilic non woven fabric is a polypropylene spunbond fabric treated to absorb and pass water rapidly. "Hydrophilic" means water-loving — the fabric quickly wicks moisture through to the absorbent core, making it ideal for baby diapers, sanitary pads and medical wipes.
What is the difference between hydrophilic and hydrophobic non woven?
Hydrophilic fabric absorbs and passes water rapidly (used for topsheets, wipes). Hydrophobic fabric repels water (used for outer layers, surgical gown backs, bouffant caps). Both are PP spunbond — the difference is the surface finish applied during manufacturing.
What GSM hydrophilic non woven is used for diaper topsheet?
Baby diaper topsheet typically uses 12–18 GSM hydrophilic spunbond. Sanitary pad topsheet uses 15–20 GSM. Adult incontinence products may use 18–25 GSM for better coverage. We supply all these grades with uniform GSM tolerance ±2 g/m².
