What Is PE/PP Bico Spunbond Nonwoven Fabric?

PE/PP bicomponent spunbond nonwoven fabric is made from two-component filaments. Each filament has a polypropylene (PP) core surrounded by a polyethylene (PE) sheath. These filaments are extruded, bonded, and wound into rolls using the spunbond process.

The critical property is the 30C difference in melting points. PP melts at ~160C and PE melts at ~130C. When heat is applied at 130-140C, only the PE sheath melts and bonds. The PP core stays solid and maintains the fabric structure without deforming or shrinking.
