What Is 100% Viscose Spunlace Nonwoven?

100% viscose spunlace nonwoven is made entirely from viscose (rayon) fibres bonded using high-pressure water jets. No polyester, no synthetic fibres, and no chemical binders in the bonding process. The result is the softest, most absorbent, and most natural-feeling spunlace fabric in the commercial range.

Viscose is a semi-synthetic fibre derived from natural wood pulp cellulose. It has the softness and absorbency of cotton but can be produced in consistent, uniform fibre lengths at commercial scale. When hydroentangled into spunlace fabric, pure viscose delivers a cotton-like hand feel that no PET-containing blend can match at the same GSM.

Is 100% viscose spunlace biodegradable?+

Yes. Viscose is a regenerated cellulose fibre that biodegrades in composting conditions. 100% viscose spunlace decomposes naturally without leaving synthetic fibres in the environment. This makes it suitable for brands pursuing biodegradable or flushable wipe certification, subject to specific product and regulatory requirements in your market.

What is the softest GSM for premium baby wipes?+

For premium baby wipes, we recommend 60–70 GSM 100% viscose spunlace. This GSM provides sufficient thickness for confident cleaning, excellent liquid retention, and the premium weight that positions the product at the top of the market. Lighter GSM (40–50) suits face wipes and cosmetic pads where a thinner substrate is acceptable.
