Applications
40–60 GSM SMS for AAMI Level 1–3 surgical gowns and surgical drapes. Hydrohead ≥100 mmH₂O provides fluid barrier protection while maintaining breathability for surgeon comfort during long procedures.
40–60 GSM SMS and SMMS for disposable coveralls, isolation gowns, and Level B/C chemical protection garments. Single-use and limited-reuse configurations for healthcare, pharma, and industrial sectors.
15–25 GSM SMS for outer and inner layers of 3-ply surgical masks, combining the hydrophobic barrier of the outer spunbond with the soft inner spunbond — and the meltblown filter layer integrated as the middle barrier.
20–40 GSM SMS for wound care pads, bed sheets, pillow covers, and other hospital-use disposables requiring fluid barrier and soft touch properties. Medical Blue standard; White available.
Why Medical Manufacturers Choose Us
Established 2011, Agra. Over a decade supplying SMS non woven to surgical gown OEMs, hospital supply chains, PPE manufacturers, and medical disposable converters across India and 30+ export markets.
The highest vendor quality score in the non-woven segment. Consistent hydrohead, GSM accuracy, and layer bonding strength — critical for medical-grade SMS fabric used in certified healthcare applications.
Standard SMS for AAMI Level 1–3 applications. SMMS (double meltblown, 4-layer) for higher hydrohead (≥150 mmH₂O) surgical gown and chemical-splash PPE applications requiring maximum barrier performance.
SMS non woven exported to UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Kenya, Turkey, and 24+ more markets. Full export documentation — including COA, BIS, OEKO-TEX, and origin certificates — handled in-house.

SMS (Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond) is a tri-layer composite non woven fabric. The outer and inner spunbond layers provide strength and softness; the middle meltblown layer provides fluid barrier protection (hydrohead ≥100 mmH₂O). SMS is the standard fabric for surgical gowns, medical drapes, and disposable protective garments.
SMS has three layers: Spunbond + Meltblown + Spunbond. SMMS has four layers: Spunbond + Meltblown + Meltblown + Spunbond — the double meltblown layer provides a higher hydrohead (typically ≥150 mmH₂O) and better chemical barrier performance. SMMS is used for Level 3–4 surgical gowns and higher-performance PPE coveralls. We manufacture both SMS and SMMS grades.
AAMI Level 1 surgical gowns typically use 30–40 GSM SMS. Level 2 uses 40–50 GSM SMS. Level 3 (high fluid exposure) uses 50–60 GSM SMS or SMMS. The GSM affects fabric weight, drape, and to some extent barrier performance — though hydrohead is primarily determined by the meltblown layer quality rather than total GSM.
Hydrostatic head (hydrohead) measures fluid barrier resistance — the water pressure in mmH₂O that the fabric can resist before fluid penetrates. Our SMS has hydrohead ≥100 mmH₂O (standard) and ≥150 mmH₂O (medical grade). Higher hydrohead = better protection against surgical fluid splash — critical for AAMI Level 2+ gowns and PPE applications.
Yes. We export SMS non woven fabric to 30+ countries. Certifications available: ISO 9001:2015, OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
