PE Film Backing for Bandage

The PE film backing is the outermost layer of an adhesive bandage. It is waterproof, provides dimensional stability for die-cutting, and serves as the print surface for decorative and informational bandage printing. Full specifications at our PE film jumbo roll for bandage page. The 55 GSM grade is the most commonly ordered specification.

PE Adhesive Tape for Bandage

PE adhesive tape for bandage is PE film with adhesive already applied — supplied as a pre-coated jumbo roll. Full specifications at our PE adhesive tape jumbo roll page.

PE vs Fabric Bandage Raw Material

Modern adhesive bandages predominantly use PE film as the backing material. PE film is inherently waterproof, lower cost than woven fabric backing, has consistent GSM and thickness, and performs better on high-speed automated converting lines. Favourite Fab specialises in PE film components for this dominant bandage format.

Bandage Construction and Raw Material Selection

A standard adhesive bandage consists of backing film, adhesive layer, wound pad, and release liner. The PE components from Favourite Fab cover the backing film and release liner. For manufacturers without adhesive coating lines, we also supply pre-coated adhesive tape. The wound pad is a separate spunlace nonwoven component. See our adhesive bandage raw material supplier page for sourcing both components together.
