Material 1 — PP Spunbond Shoe Cover

The most common type in India. Same PP spunbond used for bouffant caps, but at higher GSM for foot protection.

CPE (chlorinated polyethylene) film is fully waterproof, soft, and quiet — preferred for medical, surgical, and food-processing environments where wet contamination is the concern.

Premium product — soft cloth-feel exterior (PP spunbond) bonded to waterproof CPE film inner. Best of both — comfortable, durable, and waterproof. Standard for surgical and pharma cleanroom use.

  • Conductive thread sewn through the cover

Elastic Band Specifications

Same as bouffant caps — round elastic 1.5–2 mm diameter, polyester-rubber. Casing sewn or ultrasonically sealed at the perimeter. Cost: ₹0.15–0.25 per shoe cover.

No. PP spunbond is breathable but not waterproof. For wet environments (operating theatres, food processing, wet floor cleaning) use CPE film or PP+CPE laminate covers instead.

How long do CPE film shoe covers last in use?

CPE film shoe covers are designed for single-use, typically 30 minutes to 4 hours of wear. Walking on rough surfaces causes pinholes within 1–2 hours. For longer wear, use PP+CPE laminate.

Can I print my logo on shoe covers?

Yes — flexo printing is possible on PP spunbond before cap conversion. Single-colour logos are most common (1–2 colours). Custom printing requires 2,000+ kg minimum order. CPE film printing is more limited.

What machinery is used to make shoe covers?

Automatic shoe cover machines run 60–100 covers per minute. They unwind fabric, cut to pattern, sew or seal the elastic, and stack finished covers. PP spunbond machines and CPE film machines have different sealing methods (ultrasonic for PP, heat seal for CPE).
