Hot Air Through Bonded Nonwoven Manufacturer India
Favourite Fab is a leading hot air through bonded nonwoven manufacturer India, producing premium through-air-bonded (TAB) nonwoven engineered for ultra-soft, high-loft hygiene applications. Our hot air through bonded nonwoven uses bicomponent staple or spunbond filaments consolidated by hot air (rather than calender pressure), preserving fibre loft, three-dimensional structure, and cloth-like softness — properties uniquely demanded by premium baby diaper top sheets, acquisition distribution layers (ADL), and feminine-hygiene cover stock. With ISO 9001 certified production, MOQ-friendly batches from 500 kg, custom GSM and treatment options, and 24-hour quote turnaround, we serve hygiene OEMs, diaper converters, and disposables manufacturers across India and 25+ export markets at competitive wholesale pricing.
What is Hot Air Through Bonded Nonwoven?
Hot air through bonded (HATB or TAB) nonwoven is a fabric in which a fibre web — typically composed of bicomponent fibres with a low-melt sheath (PE) and high-melt core (PP or PET) — is consolidated by drawing hot air uniformly through the web in a perforated drum or flat-bed oven. The hot air (130–145°C) selectively melts the sheath polymer at every fibre crossover, fusing the web at thousands of point contacts without compressing the loft. Unlike calender bonding, which crushes the web between heated rolls, through-air bonding leaves the three-dimensional fibre network intact — yielding a soft, lofty, breathable, low-density fabric ideal for skin-contact hygiene applications. Standard GSM ranges from 18 to 60 GSM for hygiene top sheets and ADL, with widths up to 3200 mm. Optional treatments include hydrophilic, super-hydrophilic ADL grades, skin-care lotion, soft-touch silicone, and anti-bacterial finish.
How Hot Air Through Bonded Nonwoven is Manufactured
Manufacturing hot air through bonded nonwoven starts with bicomponent fibre web formation. For carded TAB, bales of bicomponent staple fibre (typically 2.0–3.0 dtex, 38–51 mm length, PE/PP or PE/PET sheath-core) are opened, blended, and carded into a uniform web; multiple cards are cross-lapped or parallel-laid to build target GSM. For spunbond TAB, two extruders feed bicomponent spinnerets that lay continuous bico filaments directly onto a forming wire.
The web is conveyed into a through-air bonding oven — either a perforated drum oven (web wraps around a hot drum with hot air drawn through the wall) or a flat-bed oven (web sits on a perforated belt with hot air blown through). Air temperature is precisely controlled at 130–145°C, just above the PE sheath melt point but below the PP/PET core melt point. The hot air permeates the web, melting the sheath at every fibre crossover and creating millions of point bonds. Importantly, no mechanical pressure compresses the web — the original fibre architecture and loft remain intact. After exiting the oven, the web cools and is wound onto jumbo rolls. Optional surface treatments (hydrophilic, super-hydrophilic, lotion, silicone soft, anti-bacterial) are applied via kiss-roll or spray applicator. The web is slit, rewound to customer roll widths, and lab-tested for GSM, tensile strength, softness panel, strike-through time, and rewet before release.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between hot-air through bonded and calender-bonded nonwoven?
Through-air bonding uses hot air to melt the low-melt fibre sheath without compressing the web — preserving loft and softness. Calender bonding uses heated patterned rolls that fuse and compress the web simultaneously, producing a thinner, denser, less-soft fabric. TAB is preferred for premium hygiene top sheets and ADL where softness and loft matter most.
What fibre systems do you offer for HATB?
PE/PP sheath-core for maximum softness, and PE/PET sheath-core for higher tensile strength and ADL durability. Both are available in 2.0–3.0 dtex with custom blend ratios.
Can your HATB be used for ADL layers?
Yes. We supply super-hydrophilic ADL grades engineered for rapid liquid acquisition (strike-through under 3 seconds) and excellent dry-back performance.
Is hot air through bonded nonwoven OEKO-TEX certified?
Yes. Our HATB carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I (suitable for baby and infant skin contact) and full REACH SVHC compliance.
What treatments are available?
Hydrophilic, super-hydrophilic ADL, durable hydrophilic, skin-care lotion, soft-touch silicone, and anti-bacterial.
What is the minimum order quantity?
500 kg for stock SKUs; 1000–2000 kg for custom GSM, treatment, fibre or colour orders.
What is the lead time?
12–20 days for stock specifications; 18–25 days for custom-treated HATB.

How to Choose a Reliable ATB Nonwoven Supplier
Sourcing air-through bonded (ATB) nonwoven is a supply-chain decision as much as a material decision: hygiene and medical product lines depend on batch-to-batch consistency, so the supplier you qualify matters as much as the specification you write. When evaluating an ATB nonwoven supplier, check the following before committing to bulk volumes.
- Manufacturing expertise in air-through bonding — the supplier should control the full process, from bicomponent fibre web formation to hot-air oven bonding, and be able to explain how their process achieves uniform bonding without crushing loft.
- Technical data on request — a credible manufacturer shares basis weight, tensile strength, fluid absorbency rate and capacity, and air permeability figures for each grade rather than generic brochure claims.
- Customisation capability — custom slit widths and tailored fibre composition (tuned for softness, tensile strength, or filtration efficiency) indicate a producer, not a trader.
- Quality control at every stage — rigorous testing during production, not just outgoing inspection, is what keeps roll-to-roll performance consistent.
- Reliable delivery and logistics — consistent lead times and an export-capable dispatch process protect your converting schedule.
Sample Before You Commit to Bulk
The single most effective de-risking step is a production trial. Request an ATB nonwoven sample and run it on your own converting line to confirm compatibility and performance before placing a bulk or annual-contract order. A reliable supplier will support this readily — offering sample rolls, transparent written quotes against your exact specification, and both roll and bulk supply formats so you can scale from trial to full production without requalifying material. Favourite Fab supports all of these steps for its HATB range from the Agra facility.
